It’s Monday morning Labor Day and the day has broken cool and damp. Yesterday was uncomfortably warm and humid and I picked that day to can up 20 pints of Hot Salsa.

That should keep us for a while.

It feels like I’ve not been posting as much and perhaps that’s true.  Worse still, I’ve not been able to comment on all of your posts as I have in the past. And I’m not happy about it.

Let me tell you what’s going on.

First, we’re in the beginning stages of a major home remodel that will see the kitchen, dining and living rooms combined into one space. The Accountant and I have a little house, and with the children grown it’s time to spruce it up and disrupt two lives instead of  four. But with walls coming down, and furniture being shuttled around, new windows going it and still need to pick cabinets, counter tops, floors and appliances there is a ton to do and I’m watching the bank account drain. Stress.

Work is in the middle of a major re-org – always a joy.

I am also responsible for the changing of payroll vendors as we bring it back in house.  Having the entire office (including the boss) depending on my project success to get paid is a little nerve wracking – I won’t be comfortable with this until mid- November.

And there is the garden – sadly with everything else going on,  what should be a refuge, is starting to feel like work.

Don’t despair… I know I’ll get through it and perhaps this sounds like a self-pity party. It’s just that doing what needs to be done is getting in the way of what I love to do, grow, cook, eat, take pictures, repeat.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though it’s a few months away. So if I seem a bit disconnected, I am. I hope to be back to normal by late November.

Until next time, Eat Well and Keep Digging!
