Quick post today as I am running late. Only two pickings last week. It was pretty good interms of variety and quantity. The Romas probably have another 10-20lbs left but as they are determinate and not setting any more flowers their ending is approaching.
I am surprised the broccoli keeps going., every time I think of pulling it, it keeps sending out side shoots. The pole beans are finally starting to go. I may even get enough to pickle (I love pickled green beans!)
Total for week: 38 lbs
Total for year: 139 lbs

If only I could get my blessed squashes to produce some fruit! Those Butternuts look very nice indeed.
The butternuts are quite small, pefect for two people
wow what a lovely harvest, both amount and variety! wow butternuts already!
I am pretty happy with the variety, there are more butternuts on the vine as well
That’s a lot of tomatoes. And I really envy your eggplant, they are beautiful. The flea beetles have yet again completely destroyed mine.
I have the beetles too, rather the plants do, and while the leaves look a bit tatty, it is having no impact on the fruit production.
I love pickled green beans, too. I will have to plant many more beans next year, if I hope to pickle any.
Well the bush beans didn’t do much but the pole beans are coming in pretty fast so I may get a couple pints put up yet.
lovely harvest
Thx Mrs Pickles!
Oh man…your butternuts are gorgeous! I had a little mix up with my seeds and didn’t wind up with any butternuts at all this year. Ah well…there’s always next year! Great harvests!
I’ve had some mix ups on the peppers I put in. Oh well, It’s all good!
Fantastic, David! Yours is probably the only garden I’ve seen that actually grew squash this year. Either the heat or bugs did the others in. Good for you!
John, I was out watering every morning at the crack of dawn, and though there are definately bugs, the plants have the upper hand.
Great looking harvest. The tomatoes look fantastic, Roma tomatoes don’t do very well in my hot garden so we are still waiting for our first really big pickings so we can start canning for the winter. Any day now!!!
The romas are winding down here, but I hope the old german do something before frost.
Super colorful and lush. You’re really fortunate!
I’m definately fortunate!
Love those butternuts, I have some planted but the more aggressive Red Kuri squashes have grown up and over them and I think they are not getting enough sun as a result to produce. I may be surprised this fall to find some hidden in the dark jungle of vegetation but am not optimistic. The bowls of tomatoes are gorgeous.
I hope you find some surprises!
The butternut squash caught my attention – and spaghetti squash too? You certainly have a nice assortment David, how fun it must be to have all this bounty with which to create from!
I try to plant a pretty wide assortment of what I like to eat!
Great harvest and perfect little butternut pumpkins…………………..
So many variety of tomatoes to choose from and I’m still deciding what seeds to plant for this coming season, we hope to have most seedlings planted around 2nd week of November.
Where are you Andrea? They are nice little squashes. I love that they keep so well.
My goodness you’ve got quite the bounty in your garden.. I’ve only planted rhubarb and herbs this year for the first time. Next year I shall be a little braver:D
It’s certainly coming in Fast.
